Pondering....

As you all can see,I have drastically changed my blog again.

I have downgraded my account because I have not been a very active blogger lately.I am going through some major changes right now.I have been a nanny for four years and due to a lot of circumstances both the family and I have come to a sad decision not to continue in the new year.

This is such a huge change for me  so I am going to take this opportunity to take a step back and think about what I am goint to do next.I haven't used my blog a lot lately and also have to consider the finances at this point so I decided to downgrade my account.Fortunatly I can still have my free blog to tell you about new developments.

I would like to thank each and everyone for all your wonderful comments and notes these last couple of years and hope to be back with perhaps an entirely new blog and new energy in the new year!

I will still be around for sure and visit you all and probably post some new things here once in a while:)

We have a new addition in the la la land.He is a vintage limited edition by the house of nisbet.His name is Aloysius Delicatessen Bear and replica of the bear in the movie Brideshead revisited!!!I have been looking for him for a long time and now he is my early birthday present from my husband!

I received the sweetest request to make four paddington sweaters!
I just finished knitting the last one:)My arms and fingers are sort of numb right now but once they get back to normal,I will probably have to knit three more for my own three little munskins!(Aloysius,Elliot and Lulu)I am really happy the way they turned out,I used my own patterns for the sweaters and caps!

I miss my eldest daughter Lesley-Ann a lot.She is growing up fast and spends a lot of time away from home.Although I am totally aware that it is perfectly normal and actually wonderful that my daughters are well on their way of becoming independent it also hurts a little too.Her room is so quiet ....So I decided to take a little action and give it a small make over with things I made from the movie we both love so much The Science of Sleep by Michel Gondry.She hasn't seen it yet but I am sure it will make her smile!
The little microwave should actually be a small freezer(inside joke for those who have seen the movie)but unfortunately I don't have a small freezer to spare.....Hope she will love it as much as I do.I am off to make more items from the movie.....a typewriter,boat,phone...

He can really walk,there is a walking barbie horse underneath his velveteen skin.It is soooooo amazing seeing one of my most favorite caracters from the movie The Science of Sleep galloping around here!

Fan art the science of sleep!

As a small homage the the art of Lauri Faggioni  I decided to try my hands at creating a few caracters from the movie.I started with the little blue bird.

I always try to make my stitches as small and even as possible but for little blue bird I had to aim for a more "primitive" look.

I also wanted to make the little elepant in a cage,but he sort of turned out really wonky!Usually I throw these "try outs"in the garbage bin,but I couldn't bring myself to kill Mister tatterbum (that is the name I gave my own little elepant)He doens't resemble the little fellow from the movie at all(the bird cage doesn't either) but he will be loved anyway and....spend his time here!

(Now I will have to try and make Golden Pony Boy of course:))))

 
 

Henry Spider

I am a huge fan of Ann Wood .I have been eying her victorian spiders  for a long time,and asked her if they will ever make it to her Shop .But no luck so far....

I am also a HUGE HUGE fan of Lauri Faggioni Her spider is so wonderful(Everything she does is absolutely brilliant,check out all the other links tooo)

The movie The science of sleep is a true work of art.I went to see it with my eldest daughter Lesley-Ann and we both LOVE it!   

So here he is,Ann Wood and Lauri Faggioni inspired but I think he is a real personality of his own!

Usually my hubby Pim doesn't like it when I embroider something on his pillowcase.He doesn't want the image to be in his cheek when he wakes up I guess LOL.But I must admit he looked slightly dissappointed when he saw only one adorned pillowcase this morning!I best get started on making him one also:-)
The pattern I used is from a lovely talented dutch lady Nicole Vos
who has the cutest etsy shop called Kloin and is also known on flickr as Follow the white bunny !
