I would like to share a story with you.I have two daughters as you all know by now.I always wanted to have at least 4 kids.Due to all kinds of things we decided not to have any more children.I was very young when I made that decision and couldn't really cope with the thought of having no more babies. At that time I was visiting many craft and doll shows and came in contact with a lady called Christele Vanheste an amazing doll maker from Belgium who made very realistic babydolls. Not rebornbabies but from scratch with polymer clay and hours and hours of study on the anatomy of a newborn.I went to Belgium to learn how to make the babies.I ended up making two and would like to show one of them to you
.Although I am very proud of it,I really never show it alot to people.Until today I guess.Looking back it was sort of a therapy for me to be making these babies. It helped me to get over the fact that I wouldn't have any more children.I don't think I would be able to make them like this any more and don't even have the desire to do so.It was very hard for me to make them and now I am in a different stage in my life and I love the crafts I am doing now .
Yesterday I received my Miss Buttons pattern from the lovely miss Angela, and of course I just had to make her right away. But unfortunately all kinds of things got in my way and I ended up just cutting the pattern pieces and that was it.I had a very important parent meeting at my youngest daughter's school.I would have skipped it,but it was about choosing a university and making the right decisions for the future. So I told Miss Buttons to hang in there and I left for the meeting. And this will sound so silly, all the time I was sitting there listening to all the speakers I was thinking to myself:,Shall I give her a button or a ribbon.Should I change her little face or not. What kind of button to put on her mary janes?I really had to make an effort to stick with the study program and couldn't wait to drive home at 10.OK you guessed it,Miss Missy was born at 1 o"clock this morning.I had made the opening to turn her inside out a little too small. And there I was in the middle of the night laughing my head off when her mary janes stuck out of the opening and they couldn't move!I couldn't help to think that it looked like a real birth to me!I was born with my bum first(got stuck too)and me and Miss Buttons had a laugh right there and then. She seems really happy to be here safe and sound and she is like peas and carrots with Miss Daisy.I call her Miss Missy because she is such a wee little one.And she is sooooo adorable. It is such an amazing pattern to make.I have seen the magic happen so many times before, but when a pile of fabric turns into something so sweet it feels like a small miracle every time!
For the wonderful Miss Buttons pattern or kit go to:
Ok I am a nightowl by nature. And yesterday,my husband was working a late shift and my girls were having a night on the town togheter so I decided to finish the kitten.I had been working on my other things and strangly it felt like I was knitting in my time off work. Can you believe it?Just like the hours after say 21.00 were not working on commissions hours but spare time!I knitted untill 1.00 in the morning and had a brief encounter with another nightowl when I read my mail and went to bed with my new pallie right next to me.I named her Miff. And ofcourse couldn't resist making Miff a pallie and decided to try the fish crochet pattern early this morning and finished that one as well.I named her bubbles. Both patterns are great!!!Easy to follow and fun to make!
(Now it is back to cleaning and ironing and finishing the commissions.)

Yep,I had a ball again.I went shopping the last couple of days and boy did I have fun.I bought some great fabrics:
I already bought them before I ordered the Miss buttons pattern so I hope they will arrive about at the same time so I can start making her right away!
I also dove into this new adventure:pdf file patterns WOW!I knew about pdf files and that you can order them on etsy for example but never tried it.Now I am hooked! You just order them and pay a small amount(with paypal my best friend in the whole world LOL) and within hours your pattern is send to you and you can print it and start right away!so here are some of my finds:
Of course I couldn't just print the patterns and just leave them lying there so I started knitting one of these kittens right away.It is not finished yet because I have alot of commissions to do and I don't want to keep people waiting. But just the fact that I have started knitting again makes it ok for me.But at times like these I wish I had more hours(and more paypal hihi)in a day.So many lovely things out there.sigh.....
Here are the links to the things I bought

Today was an amazing day to me.Someone told me my miss Daisy resembles a miss Buttons!!So I googled and boy am I happy to have found this Miss Buttons!!!She is the cutest thing EVER!She is the wonderful creation of Miss Angela from Australia, who made her into a pattern and a kit and she is kind of a celeb over there!I immediately ordered a miss Buttons pattern of course, she will be the perfect pallie for miss Daisy because she is alot smaller! And they do resemble each other!I can not wait for the pattern to arrive and start making her!She has her own group on flickr and brings joy to a lot of people!
So I e-mailed Angela and told her about Miss Daisy and how in awwww I am with her miss Buttons and she is the most lovely person(it shows in miss buttons)and she asked me about making her a bambi and I was just on my computer making a copy of the bambi pattern I always use and trying to make it a little smaller.Right at that same moment.Angela did a post on coincidence this week and sent me the link to read it.Wow,we sure made a connection.I feel very very fortunate. It is a happy day today!
Here is a picture of miss buttons and some links to some wonderful pics of her:
(I know miss daisy and her will get along like peas and carrots!)

I just finished another commission for someone who saw my pincushions on flickr and she asked me for a lamby and gave me the go ahead for another one.I was free to make any other animal I wanted.I felt really special that someone just trusted me to make her something without actually seeing it.I had the same trust from the gentleman from Italy who ordered 5 different animals without any special wishes or requests. So I made a wee fox.And when I showed him on flickr he did get many very sweet comments and compliments. Now I am sitting here getting him and his lamby sister ready to fly to Italy and boy am I sad to see him go!I am not a very good saleswoman because I always have a hard time parting with my creations.I hope it will get better in time because I know I can not keep everything I make, and I did want my own business, but still I am not used to wrapping them up and shipping them out.I know there will be someone that is really happy with them waiting for them to arrive but that doesn't take away the sad feeling I am having right now.
