Flashback friday " the 80ties"

I think this flashbackfriday thing is just great to take a trip down memory lane and enjoy the past for a moment.I was born in 1966 so my teens were in the 80ties.I feel so privileged I grew up it that time.I think I just had the best childhood in the whole world.I ran into my ex-boyfriend a while ago in the gym and we said that to each other how lucky we were  to have been part of that time.I was and still am very much into the 80ties music scene.I love listening to that music and reminis about  the clothes and the music and the whole fantastic fibe that went on in those days.I do run into people from around my age and see that same sentiment with them as well.So I will leave you with a few pictures of my favorite bands,I have decided to buy all my old music again on CD.I have collected a lot over the years but now the hunt is on to get back all the music I grew to love so much in the 80ties

I thought it only fair to also show a picture of me from around the same age as my sisters were in the previous post.  I found this wee rabbit and took care of it and released it again.I was about 16 in the picture.Around the same age as my daughters are now.

Flashback Friday: Hippie love of the Yaya sisterhood

I guess my love for anything hippie comes from growing up with two beautiful older sisters.I was born in 1966 so I didn't grow up a hippie myself.My sisters were the real flower children.My eldest sister Patricia to me was the ultimate flower child.Her story is a love story for sure.She had a boyfriend named Paul at age 15.The love of her life,but our parents didn't approve and the love affair ended.At age 16 she was pregnant and got married to another man.At her wedding she refused to give up her hippie handbag ,a present from her beloved Paul.Here is a picture of her on her wedding day with my dad (look at her green nailpolish!)  .And a picture with my nephew Barry. After Barry Patty had two boys Toby and Michiel.The marriage ended in divorce.But............

Two years ago.Patty was 48 years old at the time and single.Right before Christmas there was a knock on her door.It was Paul.He had been looking for her.It was as if no time had passed at all and they are SO happy with each other right now and making up for lost time!

If that isn't a hippie happy ending!!

And now for my other big sister Mara.

She was a knockout too.Look at this pic: another hippie story.The guy in the pic was an ex boyfriend of Patty!!

My sisters got along great,not only did they borrow each others clothes but also......LOL!

Now that is what I call flower power.

Mara entered beauty contests and won too! 

Mara got married at a very young age too,that marriage ended after 14 years.She has a son Patrick and a daughter Wendy.And Mara also is back with her childhood sweetheart Theo!!!!Boy those hippie days must have been something eh?

Well and you Daisy you probably want to know,well always a bridesmaid and never a bride doesn't apply here

You probably know this by now,but I am married for almost 21 years to my childhood sweetheart Pim and we have two beautiful daughters.Lesley-Ann and Babette.

Ok here we go.I have been tagged again by the lovely Kiwi and have to mention 7 random facts about me.

1.This one is a very hush hush secret of mine.I LOVE to take moon baths instead of sunbathing!When the moon is perfect my husband already doesn't look surprised if I strip and stand in front of the open window to enjoy all the beautiful moonlight! (hope the neighbors are not reading this because that would spoil the fun!)

2.I have  a thing for misfits (My hubby says :thank you! every time I mention this to people.I for instance LOVE naked cats!

3.I watch ER and have to admit that it is primarily to watch Dr Kovac (Goran Visnjic) in action

4.I dream of EVER!coming up with a brilliant idea  I can call my own and start my own business

5.I am a vegetarian.

6.I can not clean out a closet without emptying the whooooole thing first!

7.This one you all know by now,but I DON"T tag other people so if anybody wants to volunteer (I know Lesley-Ann wants to so please do Les!).........

Flashbackfriday New Theme!!!!Hippie Love!!!!

I was invited to make a suggestion for the flashback friday fun.I first came up with the theme weddings but I just found out that weddings already has been a theme for the Flashback friday fun so I will change my theme to.........

Thank all of you for your very kind and sweet words of encouragement.I will be back with new pictures and stories soon.My camera isn't working properly so I am not able to take new pictures but the problem will be solved real soon!!!I'll be back!! 

Paperdoll

Finally I bought this amazing paperdoll on etsy!It is made by the wonderful wool and water and I was over the moon that she made this second edition of this amazing doll.

Under the weather

Last week I haven't been so "great"I have been feeling a bit under the weather with a terrible cold and feeling not too well over all.So I have been taking my rest and have been sleeping and resting alot to get over it again.I spend the last couple of days knitting and drinking loads of tea and fluids.

I bought another great pattern at Fuzzymitten and this bunny pattern is just as wonderful as the cat pattern I made  a while back.

I think I will take a step back for a while,I haven't taken anymore commissions and will be focusing on my job as a nanny and my own family of course.And if I have time and energy left I will put it in making new things for my etsy shop.I too can't juggle all the balls and I want to enjoy my crafts and not be hasty with them to complete them.It is a big step for me to tell people no,but I find it more honest this way because I wouldn't  want to make lovely things and not enjoy the process.
