Art and ghosts and dolls oh my......

Yesterday started out really bad.Babette had a doctors appointment in the hospital and after waiting for two hours we heard the woman in front of us had an appointment an hour before us!!!You can imagine.....

I am down with the flew and with this one my joints hurt.My hands and feet and knees are all sore.So the day wasn't going to well but when we finally made it home.....There it was.My new Art and ghosts ! I had been eying it ever since I bought the other ones from dearest Lou,and it never came up for sale anymore and a while ago I saw  it in her etsy shop and snatched the last one!So happy I did because it is even more gorgeous up close then I already thought it would be.Lou  included the cutest card ever,and AN EXTRA PRINT!I instantly forgot all the hassle from the sh..ty morning I had and felt better by looking at all the magical wonderful artwork.

I already said it Lou,but thank thank thank you!

I also ordered my first large BJD doll.She is a D.I.M doll (Doll in mind)Benetia. And yes she is a little vampire.I always wanted a doll that looked like Claudia,from Anne Rice's book "Interview with a vampire"and now I think I have found her.Her face up is going to be different.I have found a wonderful new doll shop right here in Holland called Triskelfantasy and I bought the doll there and Miriam is going to do the face-up on my doll when she arrives.So exciting can't wait for her to get here!

See you all tomorrow.I can not wait to see all your books!I know I made it a really difficult theme by only asking to tell my about ONE book!I too have trouble choosing and feel very guilty towards alllll my other book friends who are staring at me and going:Hé!What about me!I thought I was your favorite!

Unicorn baby

I just bought a wonderful piece of artwork from a famous dutch artist named Pieter Pander.I just put down the phone and asked the printer to print the giclée of this adorable unicorn baby.

It is a limited edition of 90 and the printer had to first make a call if he was authorized to sell me the glicée.How exciting waiting for a call to find out if you are going to own this sweetie! I fell in love with Pieter Panders work right away when I saw how he painted animals. He totally masters the skill of painting animals and people very lifelike, and then to see this baby unicorn between all the paintings of cows, dogs and other animals was such a big surprise. It made me smile the entire day so I started to look for him on the Internet. All the original paintings are way too expensive for me to buy but this is great too. Look at the smile he has!!!I am going to find the perfect frame for him and hope they will call soon to let me know he has arrived.

There is also an exhibition of his work I am going to see next year.Looking forward to that!

Nijntje/Miffy

Are you ready for some serious cuteness???

I found these new Miffy toys to play with.They are sooooo adorable.They are true works of art for me.I of course am a great Miffy (we call her Nijntje)fan and I am so happy she is a dutch design and known all over the world.Her father is Dick bruna and here is a LINK to the official website.

Yesterday we had a wonderful time picking up Babette and her friend Suus from the airport and hearing all her stories and adventures about London.I can not tell you how much we all have missed her this week,and I am not letting her go ANYWHERE for the next days,I will just sit here and look and listen to my beautiful globetrotter.

So back to Miffy,I had bought this wonderful Nina caracter dolly and decided at 23.30 after everybody had gone to bed that it was time to give her a new dress.At midnight she was ready for a picture in her new clothes but unfortunately the lighting didn't allow it.

Art and Ghosts

I hope you all remember the black frame I showed you the other day.Everybody agreed it just screamed Art and Ghosts and I ordered some prints right away ofcourse.Finally the frame has met it's tenants and I am so excited I look at them for hours on end

It is hard to take a picture of them because of the glass,but you can take my word for it they are amazing!We had trouble with the right measurements but my husband Pim made a black frame within the big black frame to aswer to ""the circus ghosts" wishes.I can really look at them and think of them like real people that have moved into my home.They have their own ghostly story and I love the dramatic hauted look about them

Pim is going to hang them here above the mantlepiece.For an even more dramatic touch.I have an antique black stove and love how the two match!

I also framed this little cutie.Her name is Crash head Fairy and I am soooo smitten by her!

Nicoletta Ceccoli, Momoko and more

Perhaps you already know this wonderful artist, but she was a totally new discovery for me today Nicoletta Ceccoli I bought three cards and have been looking at them for hours now.I love this type of artwork.

 

I also bought this little missy on ebay yesterday Don't you just love her??She is a momoko doll and goes by the name groovy babydoll.I have thought long and hard about collecting momoko dolls because I also collect  Blythes.But I must admit I am really in love with them and this one is released in June and for me is one of the cutest I have ever seen.So a little comfort shopping did me good and we will all have to sqeeze in  a little bit because I have the feeling I am not going to  own just this one momoko in the future.....

A little update for all of you who have been so sweet to write me e-mails and say prayers for me and my family Thank you so much!!My mom has good days and bad days.On a good day we have alot of fun too besides her pain and discomfort.On top of all this my eldest sister Patty is in the hospital right now with a blood cloth in her longs.What was that saying again"When it rains it poors!Love you dear sister and hope you recover soon!xoxo
